This painting is titled "25th Anniversary." I created this symbolic painting as a gift for my very best and most enthusiastic collectors. Katherine and Christopher Berman. I wanted to make something that would commemorate their twenty-fifth Wedding Anniversary. The painting is meant to be read from the upper right corner to the lower right corner (counterclockwise). It begins with the sun and the moon. I chose these symbols to represent male (sun) energy and female (moon) energy, which is the very foundation of the union. Next, the overlapping hearts represent the love energy between the couple. The interlocking golden rings stand for the commitment energy it takes to make a marriage endure. Last of all, The actual achievement energy of the twenty-five years. Their wedding date is written below the 25 in the lower right corner. Their full names are written vertically and horizontally in the center channels and they intersect in the center. Katherine and Christopher were very surprised and happy to receive this gift from my heart. Their thirtieth anniversary will be this year. I am already thinking of ideas for that painting!

Anita Marci's "Alexandra" Painting
"Alexandra" is a part of the "Orchid Fever Collection." A group of twelve watercolor paintings of beautiful, vibrant, colorful orchids. They each have a name according to their personalities. There are males and females. Some, are named after people in my life who the orchids remind me of. I happen to be fascinated by orchids. I grow them, photograph them, and paint them. They are wonderful to watch as they grow from a tiny bead to a full and luscious flower. "Alexandra" is the only one of the twelve paintings that is framed. She hangs in my bedroom and I wake up to her splendor ever day. It is my dream to some day show this collection as a whole. Collectors have tried to purchase these paintings but, I can't seem to part with them. Perhaps after they are shown together, I will break up the collection. Perhaps, I will need to sell it as a whole body of work. Until then, I will enjoy my "Alexandra" flower and her everlasting beauty.

Anita Marci's "Manhattan to Maui Book" A Book of Poetry Paintings
Accessing Creativity
Whatever beauty you're drawn to-
Express it.
Whatever way you want to show your body-
Dress it.
Breathe deep and just let go.
Your world of creativity is ready to show.
Inspiration is the key.
Expression is the door.
You have only to walk through
To a new world and explore.
I am about to take a leap of faith and publish parts of my book entitled "Manhattan to Maui." It is a book about transition and healing, about closing old doors and opening new ones.
I moved to Maui six years ago January 3, 2003. At the time I was married and had a very big life in New York. I was not happy and knew that my light was going out, so when I got to Maui and felt her beautiful energy I knew that I had found my new home. It is never easy to make changes- especially when you change everything. Perhaps if I had known how difficult it would be, I may not have done it. Having come out the other side, I am very grateful that I did. I have never been happier or more complete in my life.
I had never really written poetry and I wasn't sure where the poems came from but at the time I was in too much confusion to paint, so the poetry served as my release or "creative dump" as I am fond of calling these expressions. As an artist, creative energy builds up inside and must be released or - well I don't know- perhaps spontaneous combustion or something like that.
The poems came first and then the watercolor paintings. This book is about letting go of pain in a healthy way. It is about healing yourself through creativity. I harbor the dream of someday publishing the whole book -perhaps in e-form or maybe the traditional way.
I wish to share and as always to inspire.....
